Steel Grating is manufactured by welding bearing steel bars and cross twisted bars according to required pitch spacing between steel bars using specialized steel grating welding machines. This grid building material offers exceptional performance characteristics.
All gratings are manufactured using high-quality standard steel materials that exhibit excellent hardness and high tensile strength. Surface Processing of Grating
Hot Galvanizing
Hot galvanizing is typically performed after the end welding process. For bearing bars with thickness not less than 5mm, the average zinc layer weight will not be less than 610g/m². For bearing bars with thickness less than 5mm, the average zinc layer weight will not be less than 460g/m². Quality and requirements after hot galvanizing comply with GB/T 13912 standards.
Lacquering
Additional protection layers are applied through spraying, brushing, or soaking methods.
Service Life of Hot Galvanizing
With a coated zinc thickness of 100μm, the anticipated product life varies according to environmental circumstances.
Anti-Acid and Alkali Corrosion Capacity
Effective within the pH range of 6 to 12.5. A stable protective film forms on the zinc surface, providing excellent anti-corrosive properties.
Calculation of Weight and Area
- Grating weight varies after end welding and hot galvanizing processes. For normal industrial platforms using 30mm pitch bearing bars, weight increases by 12%; 14% for 40mm pitch bearing bars, and 16% for 60mm pitch bearing bars.
- For gratings processed according to customer-supplied sizes, calculation is based on actual area (including cutouts and taps).
- For gratings processed according to customer drawings, calculation is based on total outside dimensions (including cutouts and taps).
- For unusual grating sizes, cutouts are not deducted from length and width calculations.
