11-W-4 light duty welded steel grating is a close-mesh bar grating panel built with bearing bars at 11/16 in. (17.5 mm) on centre, resistance-welded to cross bars at 4 in. (100 mm) on centre, and hot-dip galvanized after fabrication. It is designed for pedestrian traffic applications including catwalks, mezzanines, platforms and public walkways where a tighter, safer mesh is prioritized over maximum span.
Two key specifications determine grating panel characteristics: bearing bar spacing and bearing bar depth. The 11-W-4 configuration features spacing at the tight end of the standard range, making it the preferred choice when safety concerns involve people, wheeled luggage, or dropped tools.
